The cheapest way to get to Florence from Spain is to fly to Pisa airport. How to get from there to Florence? Our recommendation is to spend a day (or a half) in Pisa and then take a train that, in an hour, will leave you at the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence. You can see schedules and rates here on the website of trenitalia. Tip: it is best to take the fast regional train (€ 8.60).

On the other hand, if you already know Pisa or if you want to go directly to Florence from the airport, you can take the bus (You find it just to the right of the airport exit) that reaches Piazzale Montelungo, very close to the Florence train station. It takes 1.10h and costs € 14. More info.

Florence is a fairly small city, but you have to organize your visit well since there are many things to see and do. In this post we tell you our 2-day itinerary in Florence. For example, keep in mind that gli Uffizi and Galleria dell'Accademia close on Mondays.

If you want visit the Uffizi, the most famous museum in Florence, the ideal is to book tickets online to avoid queues and ensure entry, especially the high season (it is one of the most visited Museums in Italy). Admission is € 12 (low season) and € 20 (high season) and you can book tickets here (they charge € 4 for the reservation!).

Of course, if it makes you especially excited see the original statue of David by Michelangelo(You know that the one in Piazza della Signoria is a replica), keep in mind that it is in the Galleries of the Academy and that, in this case too, we advise you to buy tickets in advance if you visit Florence in high season . It costs € 8 and you can book your visiting time here (you also don't lose € 4).

If you want See both museums and you are interested in a guided tour In Spanish on a walk through the center of Florence, a good idea is to hire this tour that includes: an hour and a half visit through the city center and entrance with priority access to Uffizi and Galleria dell'Accademia (always accompanied by a Hispanic guide -speaker). It costs € 94.

Do you have enough time to explore the city and its surroundings? Then you dedicate a day to one (or more) day getaways from Florence!

Eye with eat in the street: A few days ago the news went viral that tourists who eat at 4 points in the city center will be fined € 500 (Via de'Neri, Piazzale degli Uffizi, Piazza del Grano and Via della Ninna). Why? In this post it is told which was the drop that filled the glass (and the patience of the Florentines). As you can see, you can eat in the street, the only thing is that you have to avoid those 4 points. Anyway, if you prefer to eat in restaurants here we tell you a few ideas of places to eat in Florence (good and cheap).

In Italy, the state museums are free Every first Sunday of the month. Of course, you will have to share space with even more people. Look at all the museums that have free admission on the first Sunday of the month in Florence.

Which is the best time to travel to Florence? We would avoid traveling in summer, when the city is full-packed with tourists. The truth is that Florence is the target of tourism throughout the year, but in the months of July and August it can be very overwhelming. Much better to go in spring, when the weather is beautiful and there are not so many people.

To enjoy the best panorama of Florence You have to go up to Piazzale Michelangelo. We recommend you do it in the following way: take bus number 13 from Piazza del Duomo or 12/13 from Santa Maria Novella and turn around on foot, you will pass through beautiful gardens and alleyways.

And if it is too crowded with tourists? We tell you a secret: just behind Piazzale Michelangelo is the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte. From there, the views are almost the same and you won't have to share them with too many tourists.

Where stay in Florence? We stayed in a flat in the center and, really, we loved it: being able to sleep in the center of Florence is a luxury and if you have any luck you can find bargains. Here we leave you some good offers

If you just want to visit Florence It is not advisable to rent a car: the city is visited perfectly on foot and if you get some laziness you can use the buses, they are comfortable and cheap. If you are making a route through Tuscany by car, eye where to park: Florence is full of areas with limited traffic (ZTL), so it is best to look for parking in the area that goes from the Station to Scandicci (behind the Coop supermarket there is a free parking, on Galileo Chini street).

Try local gastronomic delights of Tuscany, and if you dare with something stronger, you have to taste a panino cabbage lampredotto: a sandwich with a rather peculiar filling ... cow stomach! We ate it at the Mercato Centrale and we loved it (ok, only Rober).

In the places of worship of Florence, as well as in all of Italy, to get in, you have to be dressed in decoration. If it's summer and it's hot, a good idea is to carry a scarf in your bag, to cover your shoulders enter the churches.

Do not leave the city without knowing the San Frediano neighborhood, just across the river Arno. The Lonely Planet has declared it as one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world, for something it will be!

A good way to get to know the city better and its hidden side is to read these curiosities of Florence. Surely you can surprise your fellow travelers with some fun facts.

It is sure Florence? Yes, although as in all tourist cities you have to be careful ... but come on, with common sense you will not have problems.

If you have several days of time, we recommend you rent a car and dedicate (at least) one day to explore Tuscany. A good idea is to make a roadtrip through the Chianti region (full of hills, vineyards and medieval villages) and, of course, visit San Gimignano (the so-called Medieval Manhattan, thanks to its towers that look like stone skyscrapers). Tip: stay asleep and you will not regret it.
