Here we are! With a little pain to leave the Maldives but eager to travel Sri Lanka, and we will not do it alone!

We land at Colombo airport and it seems that we have changed the continent! Guiris everywhere, free computers to use the internet, all super modern ... where is the Asian madness? Then we would realize that it was out ...

We collect the SIM they give away at the airport and direct by bus to Fort Colombo, although we only step on it to catch a night train that crosses the whole country to finally reach Trincomalee. The first hours in Sri Lanka promise!

We had a nice rate at the station, chatting with people from here, who at all times behave very well with us, while we wait for our train. At nine he arrives on time and we look for our armchair in third class, and to our surprise ... it's luxury! There we met a couple of Chileans who ended up passing their stop, and with which we would later find out would be the manager of the hotel where we stayed ... coincidence? Sign of destiny? Iker J. what would you think of all this?

We arrived to Trincomalee between yawns at five in the morning! But here the journey does not end, then we catch a tuctuc with the girl, and if formally presented (although with some faces that scare) and we go towards the beach of Nilaveli, about twenty km.

Here we have spent two days at our roll. In this country coast Now it's low season and you don't see much movement, so the beach has been whole for us. Of course, we understand why it is low season, and without waiting for it suddenly you fall a shower of three minutes that can leave you fine ... Luckily the next day we respected the rain and we could explore the area on the back of a motorcycle .

We had already forgotten the feeling of freedom we have when traveling the roads of a place with two wheels. The possibility of choosing the destination and changing it on the fly as many times as you want, or getting in the streets and stopping at a place that you would never have thought would exist, with people who freaks to see you ... or arrive at the hotel after spending the whole day under the sun, take off your shirt and see you in two colors as if you were a flag, of course with the little air you don't realize that you are chilling!

Well, in this way we visit the entire coast road, passing by Trincomalee, where we go up to a temple inside the fort, and later we traveled its beautiful beach with its beautiful surroundings where we were attacked by a huge deer ... thankfully the motorcycle reacted well and we were able to leave unharmed. Hahaha!

On the way we stand in a huge hindu temple, where just at that moment a ceremony was held that put the creeps with the sounds of bells, drums and trumpets in the form of seashells. Ah! We could also sound one of them and the sound is deafening! Although Lety had a hard time getting the point and left the shell full of slime ...

We drive to a bridge and turn left before continuing to be guided by the “Army resort“… A Resort for the Navy? Well, it was not very clear, but there were some cabins next to the beach, and apart from families taking a bath, there was a group of kids who looked like they belonged to a military school. And this whole area is full of military bases, perhaps because it was one of the sites chosen by the Tamil fighters to establish themselves.

Although it pains a little to see a base every few kilometers and military in their perfect uniforms here and there, they are very open and smiling people.

We arrived at the hotel tired and starving, all we wanted was a shower and a banquet ... and voila! Our wishes were fulfilled with a feast worthy of the Sri Lankan navy captain! We got like two gorrinos!

This has been our first step through Sri Lanka and the only one we will do alone, a friend joins us in the group! You win!
