How to go from the airport to the center of Paris
Paris has 3 airports near the city: Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais. Most low-cost flights, such as Ryanair flights, land at Beauvais Airport or at the
Orly Airport, like those of the Vueling airline. While in Charles de Gaulle, the most important airport in the city, large companies such as Air France operate.
The best ways to go from the airport to the center of Paris or your hotel are:
- Bus: The 3 airports have a direct bus transfer to the center of Paris. In Beauvais, the bus costs less than 20 euros and takes about 75 minutes. In Orly you have urban buses for 2 euros or the Orlybus that leaves you directly in the center in approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic, for less than 8 euros. While in Charles de Gaulle, the Roissybus takes an hour and costs about 11 euros, although from this location there is also the possibility of going to the city center in cheaper urban buses.
- Train: It is a little cheaper than the bus, although not as comfortable, but it can be a good option at the airports of Orly and Charles de Gaulle. RER trains in Orly take about half an hour and cost about 7 euros. In Charles de Gaulle they cost about 10 euros and take half an hour. The bus and train leaves you at stations that are well connected by subway to the city center or near your hotel, depending on the location.
- Cab: Taxi prices in Paris depend on the distance from the airport to the center or to the hotel. For example, from Charles de Gaulle to the center you can pay about 60 euros, from Beauvais about 150 euros and from Orly about 80 euros.
- Private transport: With a price a little cheaper than the taxi, this is the most comfortable option since with this service a driver will wait for you at the airport with a sign with your name and take you directly to the hotel. Accommodation in Paris
In our first trip to Paris we stayed at the Etoile Pereire, located 10 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe and with a metro station nearby. The hotel is very good value for money, plus free wifi, good breakfast and very friendly staff.
On our last trip we were at the Hotel de Nell 15 minutes walk from the Louvre Museum. Its price is more expensive than the first hotel, although the value for money is also very good.
